Pasadena, Calif. -- Measure Square launched its augmented reality (AR) app, “M2AR.” It leverages Apple's powerful ARKit platform, which allows a smartphone's cameras to measure rooms. The app is designed for consumers to get estimates for their home improvement projects.

"You can get rid of your measuring tape," said Steven Wang, Ph.D., CEO and founder of Measure Square. "Everything you need is now on your smartphone."

To create a floor plan using the app, just tap the corners of a room, as well as doors, and the app will create a quick floor plan, with square footage measurements. Users can then enhance it with options such as by placing flooring products on the diagram. It also allows for easy sharing of measurements with contractors or retailers.

Measure Square also built the M2AR app to allow for seamless integration, such as allowing for private-label versions.

“We believe AR opens up tremendous opportunities for flooring manufacturers, vendors and dealers,” said Wang. “The app can be a great way to generate more traffic and convert leads from website visitors.”
