Tarkett, a manufacturer of innovative and sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, unveiled an enhanced collection of residential floating luxury vinyl floors at the International Surface Event in Las Vegas, NV. The Transcend Loose Lay and Click collections feature both product design and installation breakthroughs that promise a true floating floor installation, whether it is a loose lay or click install.

“When we looked across the landscape of luxury vinyl tile products, we recognized that there is an opportunity for innovation around floors that actually float,” said Jeremy Salomon, director of product management and marketing for retail at Tarkett. “New backing and locking technologies mean that the Transcend Collection now delivers on the true promise of floating floors — the need for no additional adhesive, the ability to mitigate moisture and sound and true ease of use — from installation to removal and replacement.”

Transcend Loose Lay with SureSet Technology features a unique sculpted wave design backing system that creates pockets of air between the tile and the subfloor to manage moisture and absorb sound. Light adhesive is applied to the wave, the only part of the backing that comes into contact with the subfloor, leaving channels free from adhesive, allowing the product to be easily repositioned and making it fully recyclable. And that’s the just backing. Microbeveled edges and a Tritonite reinforced polyurethane finish layer create luxurious wear surface details that go the distance. Tiles and planks feature a lifetime limited residential warranty and are phthalate free.
