Lexmark Carpet Mills recently hired John Madden as its newest general manager of residential sales. As general manager for the Mountain and West Coast regions, Madden will oversee residential sales for the entire western third of the U.S.—from Montana through New Mexico to the West Coast, plus Alaska and Hawaii—and drive growth for operations throughout this 13-state region. He joins Paul Pauluzzi, general manager for the Midwest and Southwest regions, and Chris Petrie, general manager for the Northeast and Southeast regions, to complete Lexmark’s new national GM structure.

“With almost 30 years of experience in all facets of the flooring industry, John brings a wealth of knowledge and sales expertise to our company,” said Rodney Mauter, Lexmark Residential’s executive vice president. “He is not only a tremendous asset in his own right, but he’s also taking on a pivotal role in our organizational restructuring, and we’re very excited to have him onboard.”

Madden began his career in flooring in December 1989, joining Aladdin Carpet Mills as territory manager for Northeast Ohio. He then became the first district manager for Aladdin in the Ohio Valley Region, helped launch Mohawk’s Floorscapes and new ColorCenter stores, and assisted in the growth of Mohawk’s Portico builder program. Madden has been Mohawk’s district manager in the San Francisco Bay Area and Las Vegas, a division president for Centex Homes, Mohawk’s general manager for the Midwest states, and Mohawk’s west coast regional builder manager, tasked with managing both the Portico (Builder) and Properties (Property Management) divisions. In 2013, he joined the west coast-based Galleher Corp. to help launch its soft surface program and work as sales manager for Los Angeles, Orange County, and Arizona.

Madden commented, “Becoming part of an already strong team and helping continue Lexmark’s growth in the western states is a fantastic opportunity. The diversity in this part of the U.S. really lends itself to the unique styles in our luxury patterns—and at such affordable price points, our products offer customers some truly remarkable alternatives to other options on the market today.”
