Nyle Wadford, president of Neuse Tile Service in Youngsville, N.C., was presented with the 2021 Ring of Honor Award by the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA). The ring was presented by James Woelfel, chairman, NTCA Technical Committee, during the Total Solutions Plus conference in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Ring of Honor Award is given to individuals who have made a difference in the tile industry through active participation, devotion and support of NTCA programs and initiatives. Currently, Wadford is the Vice Chairman of the NTCA Technical Committee.

Wadford has served the tile industry as president of the NTCA from 2010 to 2012. Also in 2012, he was recognized as NTCA Tile Person of the Year. He served as a member of the NTCA Executive Committee as an officer and later an advisor for over 15 years. He is also credited with representing the NTCA on the TCNA Handbook and the ANSI A 108 sub-committees.

Additionally, Wadford’s role in bringing the NTCA and the Tile Contractors Association of America (TCAA) together led to the joining of forces by both parties to promote qualified labor and company recognition programs. According to the NTCA, these efforts led to the inclusion of qualified labor language into industry standards and national specifications.

Wadford’s family-owned business, Neuse Tile Service, is a NTCA Five-Star Contractor company. It has been in business for nearly 60 years.

“I have had the unique opportunity to listen and learn from others, all the while enjoying the exchange of ideas they presented. I got to see how these ideas took shape into tangible productions, embraced by passionate people taking them far beyond what I, and many I have spoken to recently, thought possible. I have great belief in the power of knowledge and the evident fact that acquired knowledge shared, multiplies that power. This, coupled with the drive that many I have had the great fortune to work with possess, has yielded a strong association of which that all of the membership should be proud… It is my hope, that in some small way, during my tenure we have been able to disseminate knowledge to our members and through them, to our industry as a whole,” said Wadford of his term as NTCA president in his President’s Letter in TileLetter in December 2012.
