The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau jointly announced the following new residential sales statistics for November 2021.

New Home Sales

Sales of new single‐family houses in November 2021 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 744,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 12.4 percent (±17.2 percent) above the revised October rate of 662,000, but is 14.0 percent (±20.5 percent) below the November 2020 estimate of 865,000.

Sales Price

The median sales price of new houses sold in November 2021 was $416,900. The average sales price was $481,700.

For Sale Inventory and Months’ Supply

The seasonally‐adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of November was 402,000. This represents a supply of 6.5 months at the current sales rate.
