Mohawk Group will be present at WantedDesign Manhattan during NYCxDESIGN Week to showcase the forthcoming Fractal Fluency carpet plank collection. WantedDesign Manhattan and ICFF fair attendees can visit Booth 765 May 15-17 to experience this new product.

Mohawk Group, 13&9 Design, and Dr. Richard Taylor, head of the physics department at the University of Oregon and Fractals Research, leveraged the success of the Relaxing Floors collection to deliver the new Fractal Fluency flooring system. Fractals are the building block of many of nature’s patterns and have been scientifically proven to reduce stress and so provide benefits to physical health. Utilizing intelligence-based designs that tap into humans' deep-seated desire and affinity for nature-inspired patterning, this collection activates the body's stress-relieving response. These new carpet planks are offered in two styles, eight distinct colorways and when utilized, create more inspiring and relaxing environments in which we live and work.

With Mohawk Group’s new EcoFlex ONE backing, Fractal Fluency is Living Product Challenge Petal Certified, for a net-positive impact in both carbon and water. Fractal Fluency combines Mohawk Group's EcoFlex One flooring system with the Duracolor Tricor fiber.

The company will host a series of panel discussions with A&D Design Director Royce Epstein. Begin WantedDesign with Ethical Design: Humane and Environmental Provenance will take place at 2:30 p.m. on May 15 at the Oasis Space 261. The Oasis Space installation designed by Float Studio features Mohawk Group carpet. May 16 will feature the WantedDesign Emerging Designers Showcase at 3:00 p.m. at the ICFF + WDM Talks Stage Space 863.

As part of the launch of Fractal Fluency, the public is also invited to Mohawk Group’s Manhattan showroom for a cocktail event and panel discussion on May 17 at 5 p.m. The panel will focus on how fractals in nature can be harnessed to reduce stress in the built environment and will go into detail on how Fractal Fluency is an extension of Mohawk Group’s Relaxing Floors collection released in 2019.
