ISE Logik, a manufacturer of moisture-mitigating concrete admixtures, and Arcosa, a producer of rotary kiln expanded shale and clay lightweight aggregate for concrete, have formed a partnership to produce a structural lightweight concrete system called Assurance LWC.

“Assurance LWC combines our MVRA 900 admixture for concrete moisture control that is warranted to 100% RH with Arcosa’s remarkable structural lightweight aggregate to assure a successful roofing or flooring outcome,” said David Seland, principal at ISE Logik. “This is a first in our industry.”

Many of today’s building construction projects are on a fast-track schedule that often fail to allow sufficient drying of the structural lightweight concrete slabs that make up the flooring or roofing systems. The moisture in these slabs, if not controlled, can lead to costly and time-consuming flooring or roofing failures.

“We are excited about the ability to deliver all the benefits of our structural lightweight concrete aggregate without moisture mitigation concerns in one innovative product,” observed Jeffrey Speck, general manager of technical sales for Arcosa Lightweight. “Assurance LWC is a game-changer for our industry.”

Both companies state that the new system provides all the benefits of structural lightweight concrete without the concrete moisture vapor emission concerns that plague timely and cost effective installation of flooring, coatings, and roofing. The Assurance LWC system is available across the U.S.
