With the highly anticipated Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) 30th anniversary convention in Orlando, Florida on September 20th-22nd, CFI is proud to announce the launch of its new Commercial Resilient Training program.

This new program will be offered in three modules to meet the needs of the installer and their skill level. The Commercial Resilient - Flat Lay is a four-day training focusing on the best practices for installation of both homogeneous (HO) and heterogeneous (HE) commercial sheet vinyl. The Commercial Resilient - Flash Cove is a two-day training with pattern scribing, and installation of flash coving. The Commercial Resilient - Seam Construction is a one-day training on proper seam construction which includes both cold and heat welding. These courses can be taken individually to address specific needs or as a complete program.

The Kentuckian Floor Covering Education Committee (KFCEC) will host the first event scheduled for October 11th-13th at Fishman Flooring Solutions in Louisville, Kentucky. The event will include the two-day Flash Cove and one-day Seam Construction training.

“The commercial resilient team lead by Dick Schmidt did an amazing job of developing this new curriculum,” shared Dave Garden, executive director of education, CFI. “This training will fulfill a need for more qualified installers in the commercial segment of our industry. We plan to put some of this training on display at our upcoming convention and are excited to see the industry’s reaction.”

This program marks the second new commercial program introduced by CFI. Earlier this year CFI also launched a well-received Advance Commercial Carpet Training program.
