The recent CFI FCICA Convention in Orlando challenged the industry to raise the bar on installer recruitment, expand high-quality training, and expand awareness of the latest installation techniques and technologies.

Tarkett's annual Healthy Building Summit in Austin brought together more than 40 education professionals to address the critical need for healthier educational buildings. The two-day workshop explored how built environments impact mental health, engagement, and belonging.

Baeumler and M-D PRO, which is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, will engage with contractors and installers through a series of educational initiatives on social media. The collaboration aims to educate pros on using installer-friendly solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality. 

The 28 workshops and eight regional training sessions across 17 states are free to attend, making them accessible to professionals across the country.

The industry is preparing for 2025 with a focus on improving installation processes and attracting new talent. Initiatives include Mohawk's CFI certification for product development teams, IFC's partnership with FCEF for workforce development, and various educational programs. 

A group of Georgia and Tennessee flooring retailers recently met with students enrolled in the Basic Floor Covering Installation program at Chattanooga State Community College, highlighting the industry's efforts to address a critical shortage of qualified installers. 

Leaders at the Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) offer an update on the organization’s progress in increasing awareness and recruiting people to flooring installation, how they are connecting individuals to quality flooring installation in the industry, and how they are providing scholarships for training. 

Advanced Flooring Technology (AFT) and Professional Floor Covering Training, Inc. partner to bring floor covering installation training to correctional facilities through the use of federal funding.
