I4F Settles with Complete Floors for Unlabeled Drop-Lock Products Distributed in Australia

By FLOOR Trends & Installation Editors

November 21, 2023

I4F, a group of companies providing patents and technologies to the flooring industry, announced an out-of-court settlement with Australian distributor, Complete Floors and its suppliers.

The dispute relates to the discovery of unlabeled i4F drop-lock enhanced SPC panels for sale in Australia. Each box of rigid-core products using i4F drop-lock technologies must be properly labeled using an L2C holographic label. The infringing products were discovered during i4F’s ongoing retailer/ distributor sweep program, activated on all continents. The settlement amount was not disclosed.

i4F’s continuous enforcement program is in place to protect its drop-lock licensees, as well as licensees of any other i4F technology, from unfair competition by unlicensed and infringing products. Labeling compliance is scrutinized during product sweeps, conducted on all continents, to ensure mandatory L2C labels appear on each box of rigid-core products enhanced with i4F technologies.

i4F continues to do everything in its power to safeguard its licensees, patents and technologies around the world by implementing a patent and licensing strategy providing licensees with a strong and broad scope of patent protection as well as vigorous enforcement programs.
