Fishman Flooring Solutions, a distributor of flooring and flooring installation supplies, has named Shane Richmond president of the company effective immediately.

Richmond, the fifth president in Fishman’s 104-year history, will be responsible for all aspects of the Fishman Flooring Solutions business and will have a seat on the Fishman board of directors. He succeeds Bob Wagner, who becomes chairman and CEO of L. Fishman & Son, Inc., of which Fishman Flooring Solutions is a subsidiary. 

“We have been preparing for this transition for many years,” said Bob Wagner. “We have used that time to ensure that Shane gained meaningful experience in managing all elements of our flooring business. There is no doubt that he will excel in his new role based on that foundation and the support of our executive team, which collectively has more than 100 years of experience in the flooring industry.”

As chairman and CEO, Wagner will be responsible for the growth of L. Fishman and Son, with an emphasis on acquisitions and new business development in industries related to its basic flooring business. Wagner will remain chairman of the L. Fishman & Son board of directors.

Both Wagner and Richmond joined Fishman in 1997, Wagner as vice president of sales and marketing and Richmond as assistant manager of the company’s Raleigh, North Carolina branch. Wagner became president and CEO of Fishman Flooring Solutions in October 2003. Richmond has held several assignments of increasing responsibility during his tenure with the company, most recently as vice president for operations and, prior to that, regional vice president for sales and branch operations for Fishman’s Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.
