Adleta Corp., a wholesale flooring distributor based in Carrollton, Texas, announced Matt Hafer as president and David Whitehurst as executive vice president on October 9, 2024, following John Sher's retirement announcement.

Hafer and Whitehurst will join the Adleta board of directors. Jack Adleta, who founded the flooring business in 1973, will remain as CEO and chairman of the board. 

Sher’s 44-year career with Adleta is the pinnacle of a career that began with Armstrong in 1973 with assignments in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, San Francisco and New York before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he worked for Gunn Supply and then William R. Moore. Moore was acquired by Adleta in 1980, and Sherr began his advancement in leadership of the Adleta Corporation, becoming president of Adleta in 2009. He led the growth of Adleta Corporation from $100 million to over $150 million through the launch of branded and private-label products. The said the greatest accomplishment of his career was executing the transition of ownership from Dianne and Jack Adleta to an ESOP structure, securing the success and continued employment of Adleta’s 110 employees. Sherr will transition into special advisor to the president where he can mentor the senior leadership team through 2025. 

Hafer become president effective October 9, 2024. He has been with Adleta for 27 years and in the flooring industry for 42 years. He began his career with Adleta as the manager of the builder division. He was promoted to product management in 1999, when he led the formation of Adleta’s wood flooring business. Hafer was later promoted to vice president of diversified products and then to senior vice president and general product manager where he oversaw all product decisions. In 2013, with an eye to the future, Sher and Adleta promoted Hafer to senior vice president of supply chain management and procurement. unded experience to lead Adleta Corporation into the future. 

Whitehurst will be promoted to executive vice president on October 9, 2024. He had a successful 20-year career with Armstrong Flooring before joining Adleta in 2017 as wood product manager. Whitehurst was quickly promoted to vice president of products where he very successfully assumed control of all product decisions. In 2022, Whitehurst was promoted to senior VP of sales and marketing for Adleta.
