The spirit of celebration that defined Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg's original Tekla rug design in 2007 takes on a sweet new dimension in Kasthall's 2024 collection update. The Swedish luxury rug manufacturer has unveiled eight new colorways inspired by global desserts, breathing fresh life into the award-winning design.

"I wanted it to be reminiscent of parties, candy, and confetti," said Ullberg, often called the "Queen of rugs," whose creative vision continues to shape the collection even today. The new palette includes whimsical hues like Cotton Candy pink, Ube Ice Cream purple, and Matcha Latte green, alongside classics like Vanilla Shake and Crème Brûlée.

The Tekla collection, which became a bestseller within a year of its launch and earned the Swedish Design Award, maintains its signature construction of felted wool, fine wool, and linen yarn. Each rug is tufted at Kasthall's factory in Kinna, Sweden, where traditional craftsmanship meets innovative design and sustainable practices.

This latest iteration aims to suit various interior styles, from minimalist living rooms to creative studios, while staying true to Ullberg's original concept of creating rugs that are more than floor coverings – they're statements that transform spaces with their bold, playful energy. The expanded collection includes eight variations: Cotton Candy, Ube Ice Cream, Vanilla Shake, Crème Brûlée, Matcha Latte, Mango Lassi, Blackberry Crumble, and Icy Caramel, each designed to bring a touch of celebration to contemporary interiors.
