Let's talk about what's coming up in the flooring world for 2025. With skilled workers still hard to find, we're seeing some smart moves from tool and equipment manufacturers who are creating products with greater functionality. Plus, tech companies are jumping in with new solutions that'll help boost product sales and find work for incoming flooring installers.

You will have the opportunity to test drive some of these at The International Surface Event (TISE), running January 28-30 in Las Vegas, Nevada and at the Coverings tile and stone show, taking place April 29-May 2. Here is a sneak peek at some of the tools, tech and equipment for 2025.

XQ6 Paddle Mixer

XQ6 Paddle Mixer

The XQ6 is designed for paddles up to 170 mm and mixing volumes up to 90 litres. It boasts eight speed levels from 300 to 750 rpm at the touch of a button. The rubber buffers on all four corners protect surfaces and the device when you set it down. The specially designed, ergonomic handles ensure a comfortable hand position and the raised handle bar ensures upright and back-friendly working.

The Hexafix Pro quick coupling allows you to change your paddles even more efficiently without tools. The low-maintenance coupling greases itself automatically. The form-fit paddle opening also offers significantly improved protection against the ingress of dust and dirt, which increases the durability and reliability of your coupling.

The mixer is equipped with an integrated mixing time display, which enables the specified mixing time to be precisely adhered to. The display resets automatically after one minute.

The optimized air routing with the specially designed impeller contributes significantly to noise reduction. The hand mixers in the XQ series are the quietest Collomixers.

The new motor still has significant power reserves even at low rotational speeds and in heavy materials. The helical-toothed high-performance gearbox transfers the power of the motor to the material to be mixed efficiently.

Go Carrera JumpStart Program

JumpStart Program

Go Carrera’s cloud-based labor management platform is designed to match flooring installers, contractors and retailers with the right job or contractor, simplify the bidding and payment process. Now, new installers have the option to create a profile and get matched to the work they are looking for and are qualified for through the Jumpstart program.

Jumpstart is a virtual job board helping people secure W2 "employee" relationships with employers, typically flooring companies, retailers and installation companies. It is strategically positioned to provide placement for the initial-training graduates who have been funded by the Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), Floorcovering Basics partners and others.

How It Works

Flooring installers must create a free account where they are asked questions pertaining to education and training along with location information and work preferences. Next, your account is reviewed and placed on the Jumpstart job board where it is now visible to companies looking for a flooring installer.

The companies within the Go Carrera platform have been vetted to ensure you are being connected with a reputable company who is looking for a specific level of flooring installer. As a new installer, Jumpstart benefits you through its ability to verify your skills through training and certification. It offers ongoing support, opportunities for training, and access to a network of industry professionals to make sure you get what you need to be successful in your career journey.

Drygres Premium Drill Bits

Rubi has expanded its Drygres Premium range of diamond drill bits designed for drilling all types of ceramic tiles, especially porcelain stoneware and other covering materials such as marble and granite.

Vacuum brazing technology was used in the Drygres Premium range of drill bits, to afix the diamond particles to the cutting area, increasing resistance to temperature and friction. The drill bits are dry cut and can be used, thanks to their M14 threaded connection, directly with a grinder or with an electric drill without a hammer, by using the drill adapter (ref. 05976).

Drygres Premium drill bits, with diameters of 1/4" to 1/2" (6 to 12 mm), are perfect for laying bathroom accessories or any type of decoration accessory on ceramic surfaces. The rest of the diameters range from 3/4" to 3 5/16" (20 to 85 mm) and have been designed mainly so that the ceramic tile fixer can obtain the best results when making the necessary drilling for sockets.
