Bona, a global family-owned company specializing in premium floor care products, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report highlighting environmental achievements and business expansion during a challenging global market environment.
The Sweden-based company reported a 41% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) compared to 2023, citing renewable energy certificates in North America and ongoing energy efficiency initiatives as key drivers of this improvement.
Among the report's highlights is the launch of Bona Mega EVO, an innovative wood floor finish containing less than 3% volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The company also received the U.S. EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year, recognizing its commitment to producing safer, high-performance chemical products.
"Our commitment to sustainability has been a core driver of our innovation, helping us progress toward our environmental, social, and governance goals," said Kerstin Lindell, interim CEO and Chair of the Board at Bona.
The company strengthened its international presence by acquiring Australian distribution partner Ezi Floor Products (EFP) to enhance operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
With a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040, Bona continues to align its practices with evolving global regulations, including preparing for compliance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
