Hardwood Industry Targets Plastic Building Materials After California Fires

America's hardwood manufacturers are using California's recent fires—which destroyed over 18,000 structures—to highlight safety concerns about plastic building materials, as the industry faces growing competition from synthetic alternatives.

In a recent article posted on the American Hardwood Information Center website, a consumer-facing promotional website that serves as "the authoritative resource for consumers and professionals seeking information about American Hardwoods", said that the use of plastic products in homes and businesses makes fires more difficult to fight.
