In a strategic move to streamline operations and strengthen its long-term position in the flooring market, AHF Products, a leading U.S. manufacturer of hard surface flooring products, announced it will wind down production at its Somerset, Ky., facility by December 12, 2025.

This decision follows a multi-year internal review and a comprehensive market analysis, which confirmed that consolidating production is the most effective way to align manufacturing capacity with current and projected demand. Operations will be transitioned to other AHF facilities.

“Consolidating operations is never an easy decision, particularly when it impacts our people," said Brent Emore, CEO, AHF Products. "The team at Somerset has delivered exceptional work, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication and contributions over the years. This step, though difficult, is essential to better position AHF for success in a rapidly evolving market while ensuring customer service remains our top priority."

Production of densified wood products will continue at the facility through February 2026, allowing for an orderly transition and uninterrupted supply for customers. The company emphasized that the change would have no impact on product availability, service continuity, or the high standards of quality customers expect.

As part of its long-term strategy, AHF continues to invest in its engineered and solid hardwood flooring operations, focusing on improving manufacturing efficiency, new product innovations, and expanding its offering to meet the market demand in all price points and segments. These investments are aimed at strengthening its industry leadership while ensuring its manufacturing network remains agile and responsive.

“We remain committed to U.S. manufacturing as the foundation of our supply chain. Domestic production supports greater quality control, faster delivery times, and the ability to respond quickly to customer needs across North America,” said Emore. “Our commitment to our customers remains unwavering,” he added. “This consolidation enables us to deliver even greater value through operational excellence, dependable quality, and cutting-edge product innovation.”

AHF Products is well situated to continue its growth trajectory through continued innovation and industry-leading customer service. Today, the company encompasses 10 manufacturing facilities in the U.S. including two solid wood, two sawmills one engineered wood plant, three resilient plants, and two porcelain plants. Additionally, four domestic distribution facilities serve customers through a multi-channel strategy that includes dealers, home centers and distributors. AHF also owns and operates an engineered wood flooring plant in Cambodia.

AHF Products proudly manufactures 100% of its solid hardwood flooring in the USA, along with a large range of engineered hardwood flooring, resilient and tile flooring.
