ASID Celebrates 50 Years at GATHER 2025 National Conference

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) wrapped up a milestone celebration as GATHER 2025 concluded on Aug. 19, marking both the end of a successful national conference and the organization's 50th anniversary. The three-day event drew 850 interior design professionals from across the country for an intensive program of workshops, networking opportunities, and recognition ceremonies.
The conference opened with the "Cheers to Excellence" Awards Reception and Anniversary Toast, setting a celebratory tone while honoring recipients of ASID's prestigious National Awards program. Throughout the event, additional honorees were recognized for their contributions to the field, culminating in a closing keynote that celebrated the 2025 Student Portfolio Competition winners and ASID Foundation & Scholarship Awards recipients—a fitting tribute to both established excellence and emerging talent in the interior design community.
GATHER 2025 served as both a professional development platform and a commemoration of ASID's five decades of advancing the interior design profession, bringing together practitioners to share knowledge, build connections, and honor the innovation that continues to shape the industry.
ASID also proudly welcomed new incoming members of its 2025–2026 National Board of Directors, whose expertise, diverse perspectives, and shared passion will aim to shape the future of design:
- Joni Burden, ASID, NCIDQ
- Dina Lamanna, ASID, NCIDQ
- Kristie Nicoloff, ASID, NCIDQ, RID, IIDA
- Jennifer Nye, ASID Affiliate
- Shundra Harris, FASID, RID, NCIDQ | Chair-Elect
The Society further announced GATHER Catalyst 2026, taking place in Dallas, Sept. 16–18, offering a premier opportunity to explore the future of design leadership and strengthen connections within the design community.
To close out a successful conference, ASID hosted the Golden Soiree at the Georgia Aquarium’s Ocean Ballroom, celebrating 50 years of design excellence.
