This episode of the FloorTalk podcast features an interview with FLOOR’s Beth Miller and the team from Pruitt Flooring, winners of the 2025 Installation Award in the Commercial Resilient category. With limited access to supplies at 2 a.m., preparation was critical — the team arrived with multiple trucks, tools, and materials to ensure the work could be completed without delay.

The chosen product, Shaw’s Philadelphia commercial resilient flooring, was installed in a herringbone pattern. While the restaurant owner initially hesitated, the Pruitt team convinced him that the design would elevate the space. The end result exceeded expectations: the floor tied seamlessly into the restaurant’s décor, and the owner was thrilled with the dramatic look.

For many on the crew, this project was both a learning experience and a testament to their teamwork. Some had decades of experience working together, which allowed the job to flow smoothly even under tight deadlines. For newer team members, it was an opportunity to see how complex patterns like herringbone come together in real-world conditions.

Ultimately, the project highlighted the crew’s adaptability, trust in one another, and commitment to quality. Their award win not only celebrated the finished product but also underscored the collaboration and craftsmanship that went into making it a success.
