WASHINGTON—The nation’s recession could be over, according to some economists.

The National Association for Business Economics (NABE) said that 60% of the economists on its forecasting panel believe the economy is growing again.

The NABE's newest forecast put economic growth at 1.5% for this year and 3.8% in 2003.

The Conference Board reported that its Index of Leading Economic Indicators rose 0.6% in January.
