ATLANTA—A recently released survey commissioned by Home Depot found that many American homeowners would spend extra money received from President Bush’s tax plan on home improvement projects.

According to the survey, homeowners would rather use extra money to finance home improvement projects instead of toward savings, new clothing, electronics or vacations. In the survey, 30 percent of homeowners would invest money into their homes. Nine percent of the respondents stated they would definitely use the money for home improvement.

These home improvement projects included replacing flooring, redecorating a room and repairing the exterior of a house. Eighteen percent of respondents would choose to install new flooring in their homes.
