National Floor TrendsSenior Editor Howard Olansky recently received an Honorary Membership into the Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association (FCICA). The title was conferred upon Olansky in March during the association's annual conference in New Orleans.

As noted by FCICA Chairman Bill Dietrich, Honorary Members are recognized for performing "conspicuous or meritorious service to the floor covering industry." Olansky was thanked for his decades-long journalistic coverage of the flooring industry, his willingness to moderate and participate in panel discussions important to the industry, and for sharing his many insights into the industry's future.

"Howard has served with distinction on various industry panels, and has been effective because he has always had his finger on the pulse of the industry," said Marty Murdoch, FCICA vice chairman. "He has never hesitated to provide insightful comments or answers to tough questions."

David Meberg, president and CEO of Consolidated Carpet and past chairman of FCICA, added that Olansky "has been willing to be involved and to write about what he sees."

Olansky joins the ranks of fellow FCICA Honorary Members including Tor Meberg, Dave Merkling, Jim Dipelesi, Gary Coulter, and William Findlay.
