Laticrete executives and Shanghai officials cut the ribbon on Laticrete’s new plant in Shanghai.

In one of the most important events in the company’s history, Laticrete has opened a manufacturing plant in Shanghai, China geared toward the Greater China market. The plant, which will be operated by wholly owned subsidiary Laticrete (Shanghai) Building Material Co. Ltd., is the first fully owned Laticrete plant outside of the United States. Products from the plant are set to include dry mortars, latex and epoxy products.

Laticrete said it expects that, within 10 years, the China plant will “exceed the firm’s U.S market in overall sales volume.”

“The establishment of the Laticrete plant clearly indicates our company’s long-term commitment to China,” said Bill Qiu, general manager of Laticrete’s Chinese subsidiary.

Laticrete, which has a global presence including plants and representatives in 16 countries, is already well-known in China according to the company. Laticrete materials have been used at the China National Olympic Swimming Center in Beijing and the Shanghai World Financial Center.
