Organizers of this spring’s Coverings 2007 say the line-up of presentations will include more than 100 speakers discussing the latest trends and innovations in the category. Slated for April 17-20 in Chicago, the meeting’s keynote speaker will be Bernard M. Markstein, III, director of forecasting for the National Association of Home Builders. He is expected to provide insight on housing trends and their effect on the flooring industry. He will also address the future for the new housing market and its impact on ceramic tile and stone sales.

Other experts set to address the gathering include Richard Meier whose portfolio of residential and commercial work can be found around the globe. Leatrice Eiseman, director of the Eiseman Center for Color Information at Pantone Color Institute, will look at trends in color usage and trends. Maxine Laurer, head of a prominent marketing consultant firm, will reveal the trends influencing consumer decisions. The author of three design books, Heather E. Adams, will conduct an hour-long presentation called, “Designing with Stone – An Interior Design Perspective”.
