Peter Barretto, President and CEO, Torlys Inc. accepts the Lammy award for Regular Member Company of the Year from Bill Dearing, President of NALFA at Surfaces 2009.

The North American Laminate Flooring Association (NALFA) has named Torlys Smart Floors as one of a select group of Lammy Award winners for 2009. Torlys was voted this year’s winner of the Regular Member Company of the Year. This year’s Lammy award winners were announced at the NALFA press conference at Surfaces in Las Vegas.

“It’s always an honor to be recognized for excellence by our peers and NALFA has set an enviable standard in that regard,” said Peter Barretto, President of Torlys.

“At Torlys, we’re doing what we can to support and grow the laminate flooring industry, with new products that perform beautifully and are made with new eco-engineering technologies,” Barretto added.

The Lammy Awards were created in 2007 by NALFA to recognize individuals and companies that have made the greatest contribution to the responsible growth of the laminate flooring industry during the preceding year.

NALFA’s board of directors anonymously nominates individuals and organizations in each category.  Nominees are compiled, listed on ballots and sent for voting to NALFA members as well as the editors of National Floor Trends, Floor Covering Weekly, Floor Covering News and Floor Focus.
