For the first time in its history, the World Floor Covering Association will start broadcasting an eight-minute segment focusing on eco-friendly flooring on The Learning Channel's Designing Spaces program. The agreement with Discovery Communications is set to reach "nearly 4 million target consumers," according to the WFCA. Designing Spaces, a popular home design show, has been on the air for more than six seasons.

“Discovery Communications is a broadcast industry leader with unparalleled audience reach across the globe,” said D. Christopher Davis, WFCA's president and CEO. “Designing Spaces has been a fixture on Discovery’s The Learning Channel for years and it has one of the strongest track records in home improvement programming history."

Plans call for the WFCA segment to be hosted by design expert and Creating Your Space executive Kerry Davis. Everything from cork to green carpet will be covered during the segment, which will also feature a discussion on the role of environmental footprints, the definition of "green" and other key topics, the WFCA noted. The segment, which will be broadcast "dozens of times," will debut nationally at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 5 on the WE Channel and premier on TLC at 8 a.m. Sept. 6.

"As far as we’re concerned, we’ve successfully married the very best in home show broadcast with our own tremendously talented Kerry Davis to bring consumers across the country high quality, informative programming about flooring, plus alert consumers about our www.wfca.org web site as the unbiased source for flooring information," added the WFCA's Davis. "We’re certain that audiences will embrace Kerry and the program.”
