The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) is launching an online certification program specifically developed for and available to all commercial flooring installation managers regardless of their affiliations, according to the association.

FCICA developed the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) Program to provide the commercial flooring industry with a skill level standard for the installation manager, according to the association. By using manufacturers’, as well as related industry associations’ and leaders’ best practices compiled from years of experience to create modules of learning and assessments, FCICA staff have determined a standard skill set for flooring installation managers of all levels of experience and competency.

The online program is flexible, allowing participants to complete the CIM program at their own pace and schedule.

FCICA staff will guide the CIM candidates down their learning path, which is comprised of eight modules of learning and assessment tests. Modules include Utilizing the Estimate, Planning the Job, Understanding Contractual Obligations, Scheduling and Assigning Resources, Managing On-Site Conditions, Managing Change Orders On-Site, Financial Management and Closing Out the Job.

Upon completion of all eight modules and related assessment tests, CIM candidates will receive the industry recognized designation of CIM.
