J+J Flooring Group will join with APPA to present an APPA Facilities Drive-In Workshop on Thursday, Aug.7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. The event is geared toward facility directors, business officers, managers, supervisors and technical personnel from colleges, universities, K-12 public schools and private academies, museums and libraries. 

J+J Flooring, in collaboration with The University of Texas at Austin, has selected content focus that will have strategic application to financial outcomes and student and faculty satisfaction in higher education facilities. Presentations will address:

Hazard Communication Compliance—Hear how the University of Texas at Austin brought its shop areas into compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard.

Reducing Slip and Fall Liabilities—Learn about the financial impact of slips and falls and how to manage risks by measuring and improving slip resistance in flooring.

Training for Campus Planning and Facilities Management—Explore training programs that promote the development of leadership, management and advanced administrative skills for facilities professionals.

According to the company, experienced presenters and subject matter experts have been carefully selected to serve as session leaders and include Jennifer Root, manager of safety programs for the University of Texas at Austin; Keith Gray, J+J Flooring Group director of product innovation; and Darlene Taylor, manager of training services at the University of Texas at Austin.  

The complimentary workshop includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Attendees will earn .4 CEUs, four PDH units and four LUs. The event is part of a series of educational programs sponsored by J+J Flooring Group and APPA that is being held throughout the U.S.
