The 2014 Distribution Management University (DMU) will be held in conjunction with the North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA)  Annual Convention on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas.

Steve McClatchy will once again be leading DMU. According to DMU organizers, McClatchy received outstanding reviews following last year’s event with attendees commenting on the energy he brought to the session, his knowledge on important topics and the way he engaged with the audience. This year’s attendees will learn how to better communicate, listen effectively, resolve conflict, lead relationships, build trust and more.

McClatchy has been speaking for over a decade on the topics of leadership, performance, personal growth and work-life engagement. McClatchy is the founder of Alleer Training & Consulting, a firm focused on helping companies and individuals improve performance and achieve outstanding results.

NAFCD officials said DMU is an opportunity for general, sales, branch and operations managers to expand their industry knowledge and enhance leadership skills. The 2014 DMU is focused on the real world of the market level manager. Sessions are fast paced, interactive and fun and provide real tools to grow profit and market share.

“McClatchy’s past presentations have been well received by attendees. The combination of his interactive presentation with the information and tools to grow profit and market share will allow managers to get the most out of the course and improve cost productivity,” said Kevin Gammonley, executive vice president of NBMDA and executive director of NAFCD.
