Training magazine has once again recognized Mohawk Industries in its annual listing of the “Top 125” training organizations, ranking the company 33rd, and top in the flooring industry.

For the tenth consecutive year, Mohawk earned recognition on the prestigious list, which evaluates excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs. The company was the highest ranked flooring manufacturer on the current list and is the only flooring manufacturer and one of only a handful of manufacturing companies ranked among Training’s elite top five. In 2015, Mohawk ranked fourteenth on the list as 27 new organizations entered the highly competitive Top 125. Training ranked Mohawk fifth in 2014, eighth in 2013 and fourth in 2012.

“Mohawk is committed to being our industry’s preferred provider through leadership in design, service, quality and innovation, all of which require ongoing training to sustain success at the highest level,” said Becky Redd, corporate learning director for Mohawk. “We continually invest in new technology, and we must ensure that our people have the skills to optimize the impact of those investments, whether that’s state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, groundbreaking logistics systems or leading-edge customer relationship management platforms.”

Redd emphasized that Mohawk recognizes the value of workforce development across the business because it creates value for customers and lays the foundation for the continued success of the enterprise.

“Every day, at every Mohawk facility, hundreds of people formally and informally train, coach and mentor employees,” said Redd. “Training helps individuals achieve their potential while helping the business achieve its goals. Our long history of recognition from Training magazine reflects the important contributions of all of those men and women and reinforces the value that they bring to our company and to our customers. I am so proud that their outstanding work has been recognized throughout the past decade.”

The current “Top 125” was the most competitive ever, according to the magazine. The rankings are determined by assessing a range of factors, including the scope of development programs and how well those initiatives assist the organization in achieving its business goals and objectives.

“Knowing that this year’s selection process was particularly rigorous makes Mohawk’s recognition even more meaningful,” said Susan McGowan Hahn, director of Mohawk University. “It helps to validate the merits of our latest Mohawk University courses, designed to deliver top-line growth and drive store profitability.”

Lorri Freifeld, Training magazine’s editor-in-chief, said, “The 2016 Training Top 125 winners have found the recipe for success. They utilize innovative methods to deliver training and engage learners; they link training to the achievement of corporate strategic goals; and, most important, they measure the results. We salute these organizations—including 28 newcomers to the list—for their dedication, passion, and commitment to training. Clearly, they understand that training matters.”
