Armstrong will initiate a price increase in the U.S. and Canada on commercial vinyl composition tile and BioBased tile by 4%, commercial wall base by 4% and select residential tile products including Units, Afton and Classic tile by 5%, effective with shipments on Jan.1, 2015.
Due to raw material costs and underlying inflation of wages, benefits, energy and transportation, Armstrong will initiate a 4% price increase in the United States and Canada on Standard Vinyl Composition Tile products, effective with shipments on Feb. 3, 2014.

It is amazing how many millions of square feet of Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) are installed throughout North America each year. It is also amazing how much misinformation there is out there about this important flooring product--particularly among end users. VCT provides excellent performance at a value price point; and when properly installed and maintained, VCT construction will provide years of durable wear.
The largest selling resilient flooring product in terms of square footage is Vinyl Composition Tile or VCT. It's inexpensive to buy and easy to install but like any other flooring product there are ways to do it well and ways to cut corners so the installation will not be as good as it could be. I see a lot of VCT installations in my travels, from schools to supermarkets to big department stores.
