expand the market penetration of a new, breakthrough, water-based, urethane
grout technology. Bostik TruColor
Pre-Mixed Grout will be available in 20 colors unique to the Hydroment and
Durabond brand product lines of tile and stone setting materials. Additionally, when used in conjunction with
either Hydroment or Durabond branded products, TruColor Grout will be warranted
for a period up to 25 years.

With
Surfaces 2009 fast approaching, organizers say they are working on an agenda
specifically designed to help show goers combat the economic slump. The meeting
in Las Vegas will begin with the show’s first-ever General Session. Set to run
from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, the session will feature top
executives in flooring who will address the state of the industry and how to
keep business growing in a struggling market.

neglected, selling tools in flooring is the ever expanding palette of colors
available. Learning how to use it is a lot easier than you might think!
The typical floor
covering retailer is selling less carpet, but is bringing in more money on each
transaction. In our new survey, dealers said they average about 60 carpet
transactions a month. While the figure is a decline from two years ago when the
average was 69, during the same time frame the price per carpet transaction
climbed from $2,400 to $3,509. Meanwhile, the number of retailers who reported
annual carpet sales in excess of $1 million rose from 28% of those in the
survey two years ago to 37% today
Daltile has launched the DaltileGreenworks
program, an extension of parent company Mohawk’s Greenworks environmental
sustainability initiative. Along with promotng Daltile’s “green” philosophy on
its website, the program is aimed as a resource for dealers and builders
searching to learn about the LEED rating system and how it relates to “green”
tile products.
