A fire started during the manufacturing process swept through a carpet padding plant in Norfolk, Neb. on Wednesday and left the 50,000 square foot facility in ruins. None of the 25 people working at Midwest Padding when the blaze erupted were injured but the fire reportedly caused about $5 million in damage.
To better serve the Asian floor covering industry, the seventh edition of Domotex Asia/Chinafloor has increased its scope, with more than 46,000 square meters of exhibit space, 500 exhibitors from across the world, and a record 25,000 attendees expected.

Tarkett Commercial said it has expanded its distribution network to include Building Plastics, Inc. (BPI), of Memphis, Tenn, which will begin offering Tarkett's Azrock line in the state of Texas.
Johnsonite has become the latest major supplier to announce a price increase due to a shortage of raw materials needed in the manufacture of resilient flooring. The company said that effective March 7 it will raise prices by 4-5%. It also cautioned that additional increases may be necessary.
