An interplay of color and shape comes alive in the latest additions to Lunada Bay Tile’s Luce glass mosaic tile collection. With semi-opaque glass and playful forms, new Feather, Fin, Clipper, and Hex shapes shimmer in the light, much like the sun glittering across moving water. As light bounces off the surface, the mosaics absorb and reflect nuances of the colors around them.

Three of the new shapes are distinctive in form: Feather features the wispy silhouette of its namesake. Fin offers a flirty tilt on traditional geometry, with an elongated, asymmetric shape reminiscent of bamboo. Clipper’s crisp, clipped end combines into bold visuals appearing to be both random and organized. As each shape’s unique pattern and texture combine with variegated color blends, an elegant flow emerges across the wall or floor that evokes the feel of sunlight on water. The fourth shape, 2-inch Hex, expresses these same effects in an ever-popular polygon form.

“In an industry accustomed to playing with pattern rather than shape,” said Feras Irikat, director of design and marketing for Lunada Bay Tile. “Fin, Feather and Clipper stand out for their unique look and their dramatic interaction with light. The pearlescent water-like effect is soothing yet contemporary, ideal for setting a relaxing tone in the bath or infusing modern luxury in the kitchen.”

Twelve hues are available in Pearl or Silk finishes. Offerings comprise light, neutral tones (Moonlit, Zephyr, Elevation, and Sugar Cake); lush-terrain-inspired mid-tones (Bamboo Garden, Aurora, and Earthy); aquatic tones (Aero, Mineral Springs, and Intrigue); and darker hues (Mettle and Sani). The tiles can be used for residential or commercial walls, including backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, and shower enclosures, in addition to light-traffic flooring.
