The International Surface Event (TISE) exhibit hall opened Tuesday morning with excitement and energy as the industry came together for this year’s edition of the show. Comprised of SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomac and Tile Expo events, this year’s show welcomed nearly 200 new exhibitors and as TISE continues to grow in size, exhibitor offerings are following suit, returning bigger and better each year.

“[Day one] was really incredible, said Michelle Swayze, senior marketing manager of Informa. “The energy at the show is awesome, there are tons of people here and manufacturers are excited. The manufacturers and buyers came forth with an impressive display for the industry and the industry has come full-force to match that energy and effort, and for me, it’s magic to watch it happen.”

From magical sightings at Mohawk to massive natural stone slabs at Daltile, impressive exhibitor offerings and booths covered more than 450,000 square feet of show floor, indicating both a growing show and a thriving industry.

“I’ve been doing this for years and I’m still amazed at the effort manufacturers and suppliers put into their spaces,” said Swayze. “It’s different every year. There are unique finds and cool little gems everywhere you turn.”

Calling the exhibit hall the ultimate show room, Swayze and her team brought a group of design bloggers and influences to tour the exhibit hall on its opening day. A first for the show, Swayze says that since TISE is not just a buying show, but also a design show, it's now time to share a design view of what’s on the floor from a floor covering, stone, and tile perspective.

As TISE continues through Thursday, show goers can expect two more days of targeted education, installation demonstrations and products and services. For a schedule of remaining events, visit intlsurfaceevent.com.
