Mohawk launched a freshly redesigned eCommerce site, mohawkhome.com, on April 9 aimed at inspiring consumers and driving rug purchases to online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

"We wanted to engage consumers in a fun and inspirational way," said Jennifer Palmer, vice president of eCommerce, Mohawk.

The new site invites consumers to shop for Mohawk area rugs, bath rugs, doormats and rug pads, driving consumers to a point of purchase through a “buy now” button that connects shoppers to online and brick-and-mortar retailers such as Home Depot, Target, and Wayfair.

Mohawk has provided an ecommerce platform since 2012. Mohawk drives consumer traffic several ways: from the Mohawk Flooring website; through blog articles that provide design ideas, buying guides, and floor care advice; and from Pinterest, which inspires consumers through product images and room scenes produced by Mohawk's content marketing team.

Once on the site, consumers can discover products based on lifestyle preferences, such as kid-friendly, pet-friendly or high-traffic rugs, and four key design trends: bohemian, farmhouse, mid-century modern, and Scandinavian.

The design trends are identified by Mohawk designers and the company's content marketing team, which produces videos and images that show consumers how to bring the trend to life in their homes. Content will be rotated as trends change.

"We dive in to help the consumer create a room around these key trends," Palmer said.
