Armstrong Flooring is donating $20,000 Australian dollars to the Australian Red Cross to support its efforts to help the many people affected by bushfires that have devastated parts of the country. Armstrong Flooring operates a resilient flooring company in Braeside, near Melbourne in the Australian state of Victoria.

“Along with people around the world, our team members have watched the unprecedented destruction of the bushfires and expressed their concern and a desire to help,” said Michel Vermette, president and CEO of Armstrong Flooring. “We are grateful for the efforts of emergency responders, organizations like the Red Cross, and the many volunteers who have stepped up to help their neighbors and respond to this crisis.”

Armstrong Flooring’s contribution will support Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery efforts. It includes donations of $10,000 Australian dollars from both the company’s U.S. headquarters and its Australian business unit.

In addition, Armstrong Flooring Australia has set up a fundraising page with the Australian Red Cross for employees or others who would like to contribute to the recovery efforts.

The company’s Australian business marked its 50th anniversary in 2019, and it employs about 100 people in Australia.

“We offer our deepest sympathies to all who have lost loved ones, homes, businesses, pets and livestock, and are saddened by the catastrophic impact on our wildlife and landscape,” said Richard Ye, Armstrong flooring general manager for Australia and New Zealand.
