Tarkett will participate in a webinar hosted by Ecomedes on Wednesday, February 3rd to discuss strategies for accelerating the use of sustainable building products. The panel discussion, with leading building product sustainability experts from Herman Miller, Tarkett and Saint-Gobain, will capture the manufacturers’ views of sustainable product purchasing, identify initiatives that address better information and transparency, debate the cost perception, and share expectations for the post-pandemic world.

According to a recent AIA survey, 79 percent of architects want to specify more sustainable materials, and 82 percent look to manufacturer websites as an information source, but only 59 percent are somewhat or very satisfied with what they find there. In addition, 59 percent still perceive sustainable products as too expensive. This webinar will explore what needs to be done to address these challenges, and how this will change as the world emerges from the coronavirus pandemic.

Designing sustainable, carbon neutral products and establishing a circular economy are priorities at Tarkett. Tarkett North America offers the industry’s largest collection of carbon neutral flooring across soft surface and resilient categories under the Certified Carbonfree Program.

“At Tarkett, we strive to select materials and design products that can be recovered, recycled, and transformed—creating not just new products, but a more sustainable future for all humankind,” said Roxane Spears, vice president, sustainability, Tarkett North America. “We will continue to work to design products that we can be proud of, so that we can, in turn, be proud of our Tarkett Floorprint – an idea that encompasses both reduced impact and positive contributions to human health and the global climate.”
