CFL Flooring has announced the launch of sustainable FirmFit Flooring collections for the Canadian market which will be distributed by Shnier, a flooring supplier in Brampton, Ontario.

FirmFit’s new Canadian lines feature sustainable features. The flooring will contain up to 25% recycled materials and features patented Be-Lite thermoforming technology for SPC panels that, depending on the panel's thickness, uses up to 20% less raw materials during the panel core manufacturing process without creating any extra production offcuts. The flooring
includes a pre-attached natural cork backing which uses up to 33 pounds less plastic per 1,000 square feet compared to traditional flooring underlays.

Also, the FirmFit lines are Greenguard Gold and Assure certified. The GreenGuard Gold certification maintains stricter certification criteria that consider safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities. It is referenced by both The Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System.

The Assure certification is a way to establish a uniform, North American standard for all rigid core floor products manufactured globally. Assure certifies through rigorous testing that all rigid core flooring products are manufactured to the highest standards and meets all the Assure Certified requirements regarding indoor air quality, rigorous performance, and that the floor is free from any dangerous substances such as heavy metals or ortho-phthalates.
