With the new year comes new additions to companies in the flooring industry. Here are some new hires so far this year.

Chris Moderwell, Lunada Bay Corporation 

Lunada Bay Corporation announces that Chris Moderwell has joined its sales team as the Southeast and Texas regional sales manager. Moderwell will work closely with distribution and retail clients to provide product knowledge, marketing solutions, customer service, and growth opportunities in support of the sales and promotion of Lunada Bay Corporation products. Lunada Bay Corporation encompasses the flagship brand of Lunada Bay Tile and Driftwood Design Labs.

Deb Tippett, Stanton

Stanton Carpet Corporation, a supplier of carpet, custom rugs and LVP has appointed Deb Tippett in the newly created role as regional vice president hard surface for the South-Central region. In this role Tippett will assume sales responsibility and reporting for Stanton’s hard surface business. She will report to Jamann Stepp, senior VP of hard surface. 

Rachel Cooper, New York Metro

Spartan welcomes Rachel Cooper to the business development team in New York. As former managing director of Architectural Systems, Inc., Cooper brings extensive industry knowledge and a deep understanding of client needs.

Her hands-on approach and dedication to the design community will further strengthen the NYC team. With Spartan, Rachel Cooper gains access to a wide-range of products, enabling her to provide clients with the solutions necessary to meet their project’s aesthetic, logistical, and budgetary requirements.

Steve Black, Mullican Flooring 

Mullican Flooring, a U.S. manufacturer of hardwood flooring, announces that Steve Black has been named quality control manager for the company.

Black brings more than 25 years of dedicated experience in quality control to his new role, with 17 of those years occurring within the wood flooring sector. He is responsible for leading Mullican’s quality control team, overseeing all aspects of product inspection, assisting in the product development process and laying the groundwork for continuous improvement efforts.

Tom Hume, Spartan Surfaces 

Spartan Surfaces, a commercial flooring provider, welcomes Tom Hume as director of healthcare for the Eastern region. Hume will collaborate with western healthcare director Jason Montplaisir to ensure national coverage. Hume joins Spartan with 25 years’ experience in the industry, much of that concentrated in healthcare.
