Brazil made a historic impact as the Guest Country of Honor at the 25th anniversary edition of the China Xiamen International Stone Fair, projecting nearly $33 million in new business deals over the next 12 months—more than doubling last year's expectations.
The 2025 fair, held from March 16 to 19 in Xiamen, featured an expanded Brazilian presence with 20 companies from the states of Espírito Santo, Ceará, and Minas Gerais participating through the "It's Natural – Brazilian Natural Stone" program. This initiative, developed by the Brazilian Natural Stone Association (Centrorochas) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), facilitated immediate business deals worth approximately $7.7 million during the four-day event.
"This historic participation strengthens the commercial partnership between Brazil and China, currently the second-largest destination for Brazilian natural stone exports," said Tales Machado, president of Centrorochas.
The honor recognizes both the solid relationship between the two countries and creates opportunities to increase the sector's visibility in new strategic markets. The 2025 Xiamen Stone Fair set new records with 191,000 square meters of exhibition space and over 2,000 exhibitors from 40 countries. The event attracted 153,294 professional visitors from 122 countries and regions, with significant buyer representation from Brazil, India, the United States, Australia, Russia, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Organized into eight thematic areas across 24 pavilions, the fair included a new dedicated space for chemical products and maintenance goods. Technological innovations also featured prominently, particularly multi-wire saws and artificial intelligence systems for slab production. Brazil's showcase of high-quality, diverse, and sustainably sourced natural stones continues to strengthen its position in the global market, with the country's distinctive offerings drawing attention from international buyers seeking premium materials.
