Novalis Innovative Flooring has welcomed U.S. Army veteran Damian Childress to its team through the Hiring Our Heroes corporate fellowship program, an initiative designed to help service members transition to civilian careers.
Childress, who served for nine years in the Army, including time on the White House Communications Team, brings substantial experience in cybersecurity and information technology infrastructure to Novalis. His selection for the prestigious White House role came through a competitive process, highlighting his exceptional skills in the field.
With a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity and networking along with industry certifications, Childress is now applying his expertise to strengthen Novalis' IT systems.
"Veterans bring leadership, adaptability, and a deep sense of purpose. We're honored to be part of this transition and excited about what's ahead for Damian," said Novalis President and CEO John Wu.
The company, an international manufacturer of luxury vinyl flooring established in 1984, views Childress' addition as part of its broader commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where innovation thrives through diversity and meaningful opportunity.
Novalis products are distributed in more than 50 countries across six continents through brands including NovaFloor, AVA commercial LVT, and DuraDecor. The company maintains various environmental certifications and is a member of multiple industry organizations.
