The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) has appointed Dave Garden to the newly created position of WFCA Master Instructor, where he will oversee training programs across three major divisions: Certified Flooring Installers (CFI), National Flooring Industry Certified Installers (NFIC), and Flooring Consultants and Training Inspection Services (FCITS).
Garden, who previously served as executived Director of Education for CFI, will now lead training efforts across all three organizations, ensuring consistency and quality in professional development opportunities for flooring professionals throughout the industry.
"This new position allows me to continue doing what I love best — working directly with installers and professionals as they advance their careers through training," Garden said. "My passion for the industry is helping people grow, and I'm excited to take on the expanded challenges and opportunities this position offers."
The appointment comes shortly after WFCA's acquisition of NFIC and FCITS, signaling the association's strategic move to consolidate and strengthen its educational offerings under unified leadership.
WFCA CEO Scott Humphrey emphasized Garden's qualifications for the expanded role: "For the last four years, Dave has been a vital part of the CFI team. He is one of the industry's most qualified and successful trainers, and we believe his new role will bring tremendous value to the future of all three organizations."
CFI Executive Vice President Ralph Falavinha, added: "Dave has always led with integrity, passion, and an unwavering commitment to installers' success. His experience and dedication are unmatched, and his new role as WFCA Master Instructor will significantly enhance the quality and reach of all our training initiatives."
Garden's responsibilities will include implementing and coordinating training sessions across the three divisions while maintaining the distinct focus and expertise of each organization. He will assume his new role effective immediately.
The appointment aligns with WFCA's broader strategy to enhance professional development opportunities across the flooring sector, particularly as the industry faces ongoing workforce challenges and increasing technical demands.
