Eight interior designers have joined forces as Behr Paint Company's inaugural Designer Council, unveiling their first collaborative effort: the 2026 Commercial Color Forecast.
The expert panel, featuring Alena Capra, Patti Carpenter, Stephanie Lindsey, John McClain, Mia Johnson, Manuella Moreira, Christopher Kennedy, and Jennifer Sun, guided the creation of five subpalettes emphasizing "elemental harmony" for commercial interiors, debuting at NeoCon. This strategic collaboration positions Behr to anticipate future design needs while strengthening its role as an essential resource for design professionals.
Behr Paint Company debuted its 2026 Commercial Color Forecast at NeoCon in Chicago, running from June 9-11, 2025. The curated collection emphasizes "elemental harmony", a design philosophy that balances natural elements, nostalgic touches, and contemporary technology influences.
"We see an increased desire for environments that honor traditional color sensibilities while embracing contemporary digital aesthetics," said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color & creative services at Behr Paint Company. "The 2026 Commercial Color Forecast is a collection for commercial interiors that feels authentic, balanced, and connected to both our heritage and future."
The forecast consists of five distinct subpalettes designed for interchangeable use across diverse commercial settings, including workplaces, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, and hospitality venues:
EvolvedNeutrals serves as a foundational element, featuring dynamic neutrals ranging from "pure" to "toned" to anchor spaces with balance and harmony.
SoulScape draws inspiration from the Mediterranean, offering soulful and moody hues that create inviting spaces with warm, coastal appeal.
MysticWave captures the tranquil nature of aquatic hues, promoting well-being and comfort within interior environments.
MetroChic combines Parisian charm with New York City energy, delivering classic elegance and refined modern flair to commercial interiors.
FusionDream blends frosted pastels with edgy bright tones, creating a balanced yet visually striking aesthetic.
