Mohawk Group launched its "Built for the Ride" campaign during NeoCon with the "Ride for Heroes" charity motorcycle event, bringing together the worlds of high-performance design and charitable giving to support America's heroes through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The commercial flooring manufacturer's innovative campaign centers around a unique collaboration with legendary bike builder Paul Cox, who created the Hot & Heavy II Chopper—a custom motorcycle directly inspired by the artistry and durability of Mohawk's Hot & Heavy II luxury vinyl tile collection.
Charity Ride Kicks Off Campaign
The "Ride for Heroes" event commenced at 11:00 AM from the Mohawk Group Chicago Showroom at 811 West Fulton Market Street, with participants riding through Chicago before culminating at Wild Fire Harley-Davidson in Villa Park. The charity ride brought together motorcycle enthusiasts, industry professionals, and supporters in a powerful demonstration of community support.
Following the ride, participants returned to the Mohawk Group showroom for a celebration where the custom Paul Cox Hot & Heavy II Chopper was officially unveiled. The one-of-a-kind creation blends raw horsepower with bold design, translating the aesthetic and high-performance characteristics of Mohawk's flooring collection into motorcycle artistry.
Barrett-Jackson Auction Destination
This fall, the custom chopper will head to the world-famous Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, offering collectors a unique opportunity to own this distinctive work of high-power art. All proceeds from the auction will be directly donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to support its vital work providing homes and other assistance for America's heroes.
The chopper will be on display for Chicago Design Week attendees inside the Mohawk Group Chicago Showroom from June 9-11, allowing visitors to experience the intersection of flooring design and motorcycle craftsmanship firsthand.
Mission-Driven Partnership
"We are incredibly proud to partner with Paul Cox and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation for the 'Built for the Ride' campaign," said Jackie Dettmar, vice president of product, design, and marketing for Mohawk Group. "Yesterday's ride was a powerful demonstration of community support, and we are thrilled to contribute to Tunnel to Towers' vital mission. This campaign allows us to blend our passion for design and performance with a profound purpose, directly supporting America's heroes."
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen 9/11 first responder families with young children. The organization also builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, ensuring they can live independently and with dignity.
