Robert L. Smyth

The Tile Contractors Association of America recently honored Robert L. Smyth with the Giacomo DeLazzero Lifetime Achievement Award at TCAA's annual convention, held this past October in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Smyth helped found Western Tile and Marble with his uncle in 1956, which today has offices and marble fabrication shops in Bellevue, Wash., and Las Vegas.

Smyth has played a key role in the tile association since he first joined in 1963, according to TCAA. During that year, he served the TCAA as director of Western States. He also served the TCAA as president for the 1974-1975 term, and has been active in the Seattle Tile Contractors' Association. Today Smyth is chairman of the TCAA's Board of Trustees.
