Bonsal ProPannel
Bonsal has developed ProPannel, a product the company characterizes as the lightest weight backerboard in the industry. A 1/2-inch-thick, three-by-five-foot sheet of ProPannel weighs 8 lbs. The backerboard is 100% waterproof and can be cut with a utility knife without edge chipping, Bonsal says.
According to the company, ProPannel is dust-free and produces no carcinogens. It is recommended for wall installations and light commercial floor installations
