The Hornitex Group has introduced its Top-Lock glue-free system of interlocking laminate floorboards and Schall-Ex footstep noise-reduction system for laminate and other floor coverings.

The Top-Lock system is based on the Terbrack tongue-and-groove seam, which is designed to combine grip with form-fit and positive lock in three dimensions. The 1,285 x 190 mm boards are 8 mm thick and feature the H.D.F. Masterwood Plus fiberboard substrate, which is designed to protect against moisture infiltration and swelling.

The Schall-Ex system is designed to reduce the sound of footsteps by as much as 5dB. The 3-mm-thick 1.030 x 520 mm Schall-Ex panels are installed by laying them side by side on the floor. The wood-fiber boards are designed to be resistant to impact, and feature a high thermal transmission factor that may be used in conjunction with under-floor central heating.
