A CTEF student perfects her tile-setting skills.

The Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) has opened a 6,500-square-foot training center in Clemson, S.C. that was designed to meet the growing demand for hands-on installation and ceramic tile-related courses.

CTEF's facility includes a dedicated product display area where students can familiarize themselves with the latest tools and products available. The new center, which was developed for the sole purpose of training, contains permanent instructional areas that emulate actual room construction situations, such as a shower stall, countertop or a bathroom with a tub.

The center's warehouse inventory is equal to that of a full-line tile distributor, CTEF says, and provides students with the opportunity to work with products in various situations. CTEF maintains a low student-to-instructor ratio to ensure attendees receive adequate personal attention. More information about the training center may be obtained at CTEF's website, www.tileschool.org.
