California artist uses MAPEI mortar in aquatic Huntington Beach mural

Donna Billick poses on her Huntington Beach mural made using MAPEI mortar.
To beautify the Lifeguard Headquarters building in Huntington Beach, Calif., local artist Donna Billick created a mural featuring mermaids, and other exotic sea creatures. She enlisted the services of two sources: Lifeguards, who helped create pieces for the mosaic out of clay, and MAPEI. Billick says she installed more than 10,000 square feet of panels using the company's Kerabond/Keralastic mortar. She said she chose the MAPEI product because the mosaic has to stand up both to the environmental conditions of the beach and public usage.
